Mardi Gras 2017 is right around the corner. Music lovers from around the world will head to New Orleans this weekend to enjoy food, festivities, and fun. There will be pancakes, Louisiana crawfish, fried breads, pastries, eggs and dancing in the streets. Women baring their breasts, flashing for beads and nonstop drinking will take first time visitors by surprise.
Mardi Gras music and parades like Rex, Zulu, Endymion, and Bacchus always promise to send shockwaves throughout town. The two-month long celebration that happens every year before “Ash Wednesday,” or the first day of “Lent” will end with the biggest festival held on the last day. The yearly event will draw longtime attendees, Mardi Gras musicians, koozies, coins, and New Orleans natives to swarm the city.
In the words of Mardi Gras enthusiasts Laissez les bons temps rouler, or, “Let the good times roll.”
